Sure. Maybe we’re being a little smug here. But you can’t fault us for trying. Seriously, there really are some very important achievements to accomplish when in Ohio’s Amish Country. Here are 10 to get you started. Let us know what we missed.
1. Take your camera when you ride, walk or bird the Holmes County Trail.
2. Sit on a rocker on the porch at Amish Door Village and enjoy a summer’s sunset.
3. Just step inside the door at Coblentz Chocolates and inhale.
4. Take the tour at Behalt! and learn about Amish and Mennonite history.
5. Remember to count how many times you say “Wow!” at Homestead Furniture.
6. After visiting Keim Lumber, get your picture taken in front of Charm School.
7. Learn one Pennsylvania Dutch word. Verschteh?
8. Count the buggies lined up at the Kidron Auction hitching rail near Lehman’s.
9. Drive the original Lincoln Highway through downtown Dalton on your way to P. Graham Dunn’s.
10. Stand beneath the old-growth hardwoods at the Wilderness Center near Wilmot.
