Heini's Cheese Chalet is the factory retail store and of Bunker Hill Cheese. .
The Dauwalder family immigrated from Switzerland and purchased the Bunker Hill Cheese Co-op in 1935 and it became the Bunker Hill Cheese Company. We've been making handcrafted small batch cheese on site ever since.
Our cheese is produced with 100% local milk, primarily sourced from local family farms. We produce cheese in small batches in our traditional open vats. There are currently over 30 varieties of cheese produced right here at Bunker hill Cheese and you can sample them all, and more, at Heini's Cheese Chalet.
Foodies will love the unique experience of our Copper Kettle Room with sampling and demos of Jams, Jellies, Smoked Meats, Sauces as well as Fresh Roasted Peanuts. Heini’s Cheese Chalet has been producing our signature Cheese Fudge for over 40 years. We make over ten flavors with additional seasonal varieties like Pumpkin Pie and Peppermint. Customers enjoy some unique flavors such as Root Beer Float and Rainbow Sherbet. The most popular flavors are Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Nut, and Peanut Butter.
