Meet Januery Tango

Januery Tango, GM of Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market recently sat with us to discuss the flea market's history, how they got started, and what the community means to them.

Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market opened in 2009. Founded by Betty & Richard Zimmerman after a Berlin market they were visiting closed down. Several vendors came to them and asked them to build a new market on five acres of land they owned in the area. They bought an additional five acres for parking and have been growing since.

They added two additional buildings - a cafeteria and another building for more retail space - before a tragic lightning strike hit the flea market in August 2019 causing nearly $2.5 million in damages. The community rallied around the flea market and they were able to rebuild and reopen. We're proud to call them one of the Best of Ohio's Amish Country.
