What To Pack For A Weekend In Amish Country

Updated: Sep 16

Ohio has all four seasons: cold winters, hot, humid summers, but spring and fall are prime time in Ohio. In spring, everything is blooming, green and beautiful! And fall is even prettier with the changing leaves and cool, crisp air. They say sometimes Ohio even has all four seasons in one day!

There are a few must-haves for your trip to Ohio's Amish Country.

First off, pack a pair of comfortable shoes. There are many things to see and do in Amish Country and plenty of places to walk around - you will need a comfortable pair of shoes to do it all in!

Bring a cooler! Maybe a big one. You don't want your Coblentz Chocolates purchases melting in the sun or the cheese from Heini's Cheese Chalet to go bad!

It's always a good idea to bring rain gear as well. You can never go wrong having an umbrella or a rain jacket handy for those impromptu spring showers.

A light jacket is a good idea for spring and fall; evenings outside can sometimes be a bit chilly.

For the ladies, a crossbody bag or backpack purse is recommended so you have your hands free for shopping!

Keep a water bottle handle and gum to cleanse your palate in between snacks & meals!

A couple other things you might want to throw in your bag are hand sanitizer and sunscreen...keep the germs at bay and block the UV rays!

The main things to bring with you are an open mind and a big appetite!

Enjoy your trip to Ohio's Amish Country - we can't wait to see you!
